Alexa Lincu creates “A Handful of Me“, using the artist book to manifest both her passion for illustration and the result of a process of profound introspection. The book takes the place of an intimate diary, which outlines a visual narrative of the first five years of her childhood and through which she looks forward to understanding the way memories affect everyday life. The twelve pages of the book embed a series of events and symbols of this period. The elements appearing here are captured both in the form of figurative compositions and patterns, while the storyline ends with a page where there are fragments reproduced from an old journal, in which she stored, during the first years of her life, moments, feelings, and experiences.
